DR. SIMMONS: So, I remember we talked before, and obviously the superglue’s got to go.
TAMMY: Right.
DR. SIMMONS: So, we’re not going to be doing that any more. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1976, which was just the beginning of my educational process. When I got out of school and had my basic foundation, I spent thousands of hours in continuing education programs learning the services that patients had the demand for. I went to through many hands-on courses over many years. I’m a diplomat in the Congress of Oral Implantology. I’m a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. I’ve had the opportunity not only to take all these courses, but I’ve also been on the other side and have taught courses nationally and have actually lectured internationally. These experiences are what bring the state-of-the-art to my practice and for my patients. My staff have also been trained in these programs and are trained and motivated to serve the patients in what they need and want.
Our patients are just your neighbors. They’re just your everyday people that live in our community and go to our local churches that are interested and want to have high tech dental care.
FEMALE VOICE: I think Jennifer’s all ready for you to take you back. There you go.
JENNIFER: Hi!
TAMMY: Hi!
JENNIFER: Nice to see you again.
FEMALE VOICE: Have fun, Tammy!
DR. DENNIS SIMMONS: My staff is a wonderful group of people. Again, they’re just—they’re all our neighbors and they’re here to service our patients and service you and have fun with you, and we’re here to listen and see what it is that you need and what you want so that we can tell you what materials are available, what technologies are available. Some things can be very little things that will make a big change for you and make you feel a whole lot different. A lot of times things are more involved. But, it’s different for every person, and you just need to have those opportunities shown to you so that you can make whatever decision is appropriate for you. And my staff is here to help you that and educate you. And that is really our primary job, is to educate you so that you know what’s available.
When a new patient comes to our office, they meet one of my staff members, and then every new patient, I see my new patients.
DR. DENNIS SIMMONS: Tell me a little bit about yourself and what I can do for you.
ROBERT: Well, I’m here to get a new smile.
DR. DENNIS SIMMONS: Okay. I gather information so that I know technically what may be the situation, but I also want to hear from them what is it they would like me to do for them, what is it they would like to accomplish. And from what they want and what they communicate to me, then I plug in what are the different options they can do.
Okay, Tam. So, what we’re going to be doing is getting those lower ones all bleached up and white. We’re going to take the little smile. We’re going to turn it into a big smile. It’s not about just fixing a smile. It’s about what happens in a person’s life when you take away these barriers, particularly a smile that they don’t like. A smile can be a barrier as well as it can be something that opens a door to a whole new life. What we get out of this, and me, my staff, and everybody involved is it really does change people’s lives.
